Yolda Shipper Application:
A UX Design Case Study

I was responsible on the design and development of the Yolda Shipper application as the sole product designer, working closely with a small product team in the early days of Yolda. The logistics sector presented unique challenges, but our goal was clear: to create an efficient and user-friendly platform for companies looking to ship goods.

Research and Discovery

User Meetings and Professional Consultations
Our journey began with extensive user meetings, a crucial step in understanding the needs and pain points of our target users. Despite the complexities of the logistics sector, we managed to gather invaluable insights by engaging with both potential users and industry professionals. This included numerous consultations with logistics experts, whose feedback helped shape our product perspective.

Collaboration with Cofounders

Regular meetings with Yolda's cofounders ensured that our product vision was aligned with the company's strategic goals. These discussions were instrumental in guiding the design process and ensuring that our solutions addressed real market needs.

Identifying Key Insights

Initial Challenge
To facilitate transportation for a company, we initially required them to register all their information in our system. However, user feedback revealed a significant barrier: users were reluctant to log in without first seeing an estimated price for the transportation service.

Designing the MVP

Goals
Our primary goal for the MVP  was to simplify the process of creating transport orders for companies looking to ship goods. We aimed to make it easy for users to:
1. Create transport orders through the application.

2. Register in the system upon receiving a transportation price quote from Yolda.

Solution Implementation
Simple Transport Form

To address the insights gathered from user meetings, we designed a simple transport form on the homepage. We intentionally kept the required information minimal to reduce friction and encourage more companies to initiate the shipping process.

Desktop Interface for Tracking Shipments

Additionally, we developed a desktop interface where companies could track their shipments with Yolda. This feature was designed to provide transparency and build trust, allowing users to monitor their shipments from start to finish.

Outcome and Impact

By focusing on user needs and simplifying the onboarding process, we successfully reduced the entry barrier for companies looking to use Yolda's shipping services. Our approach not only improved user satisfaction but also increased the number of transport orders, driving growth for Yolda.
